I am a language buff!

Went early for my daily yoga and meditation ritual today. I became acquainted with new faces and become a little bit more comfortable with people in my new place lately. I guess smiling and being friendly all the time and the ability to learn a couple of languages had somewhat did the trick. An Asian learning to speak Norwegian and French at the same time is very odd for them (at least that's what they told me). yay! :) Learning a language was never my hobby before. I think its kind of weird and tiring. I hate studying but when I was given the mandatory task of learning French language, I slowly acquire the passion of appreciating different tongues. In learning different languages, we discover the culture and tradition that goes with it which I think is very interesting. Its also an easy way of making a lot of friends from different cultures.  In learning a foreign language: 1. You can make new friends Not all people in other countries know how to speak English. Most of the...

solitary life

I have been in constant connection with nature for months now which I seldom do before. I never thought that I would love silence, fresh air, the beach and just drown myself with my own thoughts. This is a total antipode of me. Going back on my memory lane, I often remember myself with friends. I browsed my facebook account and saw various pictures of me with friends “min venner” as what they call themselves. I was never alone. I used to always go with the crowd and just go where my feet takes me. My life revolved around my friends. When I stepped out of the house, it was then I realized life should not be like that. Our life should have a planned direction of its own.We should have a goal for ourselves because in reality, people just come and go. More often than not, you are left solo. Spending time with nature and embracing a solitary life is sometimes better because its then you are sure it is constant, unchangeable..

A short stay in the country of Vikings

I had stayed in the country of Vikings for 5 months. Viking countries are also known as Scandinavian countries which are made up of the three northern countries, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Viking is the term used to call for people living in these countries. They are popularly known as Germanic Norse seafarers from Scandinavia who raided and traded countries across Europe. They were viewed as violent, piratical heathens. However, Apart from the misconceptions about these people, Vikings nowadays are the total antipodes of this definition. The moment I stepped foot in Scandinavia (Denmark), I had noticed a totally friendly atmosphere. Strangers whom I bumped across the street would smile. I did not know how to respond so I smiled back ( a whole new thing). They are also very accommodating whenever  you ask some questions but then you have to speak Danish, Norsk or Swedish in order to communicate. Language Barrier is the number one problem for foreigners since some cannot speak En...

2015 wishlist. yay! :)

I had been staring at this blank page for hours already. I've been meaning to write something today since this day marks the first chapter of the year. 2014 was tough but fulfilling and I wonder what 2015 is in store for me. I have so many plans for my year, a series of hoops and loops, the "always planned never done" adventures with a friend, a series of traveling and learning experiences, meeting new people and of course, if I stumble down, maybe find a soulmate as well (its high time they said, but no pressure, whoops!) So here is my series of new year's wish which I hope I could fulfill this year. 1. Travel I love traveling and meeting new people. It is through having meaningful conversations with people who are unknown to you that you get a glimpse of life through their perspective. Learning new culture and tasting new cuisines is the best 2. Climb mountains Going to the peak of the mountain has always been my dream but it never came into a reality. I h...
